Canada’s National Arts Centre and Cultural Olympiad 2010 present a concert of unique and uniquely Canadian work, representing our rich cultural landscape through music, dance and song. Led by Julian Kuerti and members of the National Arts Centre Orchestra, Made in Canada proudly showcases its astounding wealth of classical music talent with evocative works, including Alexina Louie’s Take the Dog Sled, R. Murray Schafer’s Minnewanka, and Stephen Chatman’s Varley Suite.

The spotlight will shine on emerging artists and Canadian legends: pianist Angela Cheng, dancers Matjash Mrozewski and Jesse Robb, and composer Kati Agocs, whose new work evokes tales of shipwrecks off the perilous Newfoundland coast. Also featured is pianist Alain Lefèvre, credited with rediscovering Quebec virtuoso composer André Mathieu’s lost works. It will be an evening to surprise and inspire Canadian and international audiences alike.
