5th Annual UBC Creative Writing Summer Film Showcase

Presented by the UBC Creative Writing Program

A screening of short films and web series written by UBC Creative Writing MFA students and alumni, followed by a panel discussion with the filmmakers. This event started as a one-off back in 2013 to showcase short films that had seen their beginnings in Creative Writing’s summer screen bootcamp, and has grown into an annual tradition celebrating our UBC screenwriters.

This year, we will be screening Crocuses, written & directed by Wanda Nolan; Not Tubby, written & directed by Bryce Doersam, Tyler Hein & Carter Selinger; Instructions for Hugging a Tree, written & directed by Shannon Rayne; The Berg, written by Francine Cunningham; Mystery of the Secret Room, written & directed by Wanda Nolan; and Tinder Mercies, written by Jacqueline Firkins. Moderated by Sara Graefe, screenwriting faculty.
