Small to Large: An Evening with Kengo Kuma
Presented by Westbank and SALA
It began in 2009 when Westbank and SALA teamed up to bring Pritzker Prize winning architect, Tadao Ando, to Vancouver. Architect Bjarke Ingels followed in 2013 with a stunning presentation. In 2016, Westbank and SALA are teaming up again to bring Kengo Kuma, Japan’s leading architect just awarded the new Tokyo National Stadium, to Vancouver
for this year’s discussion topic: small to large.
Westbank began these lectures to provide Vancouverites, architects, planners, city builders and artists an opportunity to discover more about projects happening in their city and elsewhere in the world, to spark a conversation on how to innovate and shape the future of our city. You are invited to share this evening with us. As these events have been heavily overly subscribed, we suggest you register to reserve your place in this conversation.
The conversation with Kengo Kuma will be joined by a panel of Vancouver’s architects and academics.
Panel:
Bing Thom – Principal, Bing Thom Architects
James Cheng – Principal, James KM Cheng Architects
Michael Green – Principal, Michael Green Architecture
George Wagner – Associate Professor, Architecture SALA, UBC
