Inti-Illimani 45th Anniversary Celebration

A 45 year, prolific musical journey now offers this celebrated Chilean ensemble the singular opportunity to cover a pathway full of sounds, along a trajectory of over 400 songs in Inti-Illimani’s legendary repertoire. Linked to the past in spirit, the ensemble nevertheless remains current, creative and vibrant, ever-powerful and willing to cultivate a fresh continuity deeply linked to the present reality of both Chilean and Latin American experience, as well as to the universal human experience we all share.

Inti-Illimani’s musical essence is closely connected to the vicissitudes of everyday life in Latin America; its social struggles, need for identity, the changing colours of its environment, sensuality, social inequality, the Exile and long-awaited return to country, and above all, its joie de vivre. This culminates in a new tour, a new concert, one that emphasizes and explores Inti’s broad variety of rhythms and instruments, the breadth of vocal and instrumental harmonies, and the evolution of a life work containing many characters, many stories, and many sounds.
