Lights, camera, action! In this camp, we’ll learn the fundamentals of music, craft DIY musical instruments, and work in teams to explore digital music composition for film and TV using Garageband. In the afternoons, campers will work in groups to learn how to produce, film, and edit their own LEGO stop-motion animations. On the final day, campers can invite their friends and family to a film screening of their animations, complete with their very own music! Are you ready to take a seat in the director’s chair?

Note to parents/guardians:

No prior experience in music, Garageband, or animation required. Some tablet familiarity is helpful but not required. Campers must have completed kindergarten.

For returning campers who loved Cue the Music in Summer 2025 and are ready for a level up, we recommend Cue the Music: Film Music and Stop-Motion Animation (Ages 8-12).

What can you expect from this camp?

A typical camp week will introduce campers to concepts in music and stop-motion animation. In the mornings, we’ll explore music theory by making DIY musical instruments, playing fun games, and making digital music compositions with Garageband. In the afternoons, campers will work in groups of 2-3 to produce their own LEGO stop-motion animations with Stop Motion Studio.

Parents/guardians, siblings, and friends are invited to the Friday afternoon showcase, where campers share their film projects on the big screen!

Parents/guardians can expect campers to come home with a cool hands-on build from Monday-Wednesday. Technology projects such as digital music compositions and films will be emailed to parents/guardians within 3 days after the last day of camp.
