The 25-person ensemble Gamelan Gita Asmara come to the Telus Studio Theatre for a dazzling concert celebrating classical and contemporary Balinese music. Co-directed by UBC School of Music professor Michael Tenzer and artist-in-residence Putu Swaryandana from the village of Sayan in Bali, this concert will be one-hour long and is free for children (ticket must still be “purchased”).

Pre-Show Workshop
1:30pm – 2:30pm
For just $5, you can learn to play the instruments of the Balinese gamelan! Participants will be taught one song under the direction of the musicians of Gamelan Gita Asmara.
Open to anyone aged 5 and over, limited to first 50 who purchase the concert tickets. Those under 12 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
