Acclaimed santur player Amir Amiri leads a 30-minute conversation and demo on improvisation in Persian classical music. About these musical ideas and structures, Amiri says “I have been in Canada for over two decades and collaborated with many different musicians in many different genres of music, and I have come to an understanding that they actually apply, regardless of genre and cultural background. Because music is music anywhere you go.”
