Super Girl began in 2004 as a singing talent show featuring all female contestants. It is now one of the most popular talent contest shows in China and aims to find the next global idol. In 2016, Hunan TV, Mango TV and EE Media are bringing the show Canadian audiences.

Li Weijia is a Chinese actor and host of the final competition. He is famous for co-hosting the TV program “Happy Camp” which airs on Hunan SatelliteTV with fellow hosts He Jiong, Xie Na, Du Haitao, and Wu Xin.
