UBC Botanical Garden’s Peter Wharton Memorial Lecture

Peter Wharton was the much admired curator of the UBC Botanical Garden’s Asian Garden. The Peter Wharton Lecture was established to honour Peter’s memory and legacy.

We are pleased to announce Dr. Peter Raven as the speaker for the first lecture of the new series. Dr. Raven, who holds Ph.D. in Botany from UCLA and taught at Stanford University, has been the Director of the Missouri Botanical Garden since 1971. Dr. Raven is a widely published author, and an impassioned and sought after speaker on the topic of biodiversity and species conservation.
