Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a waitlist if the registration is full?

  • If registration is full, and you would like to be notified if a spot becomes available, please click  HERE.

What is the cancellation policy?

  •  In the event that a Camper must be withdrawn from camp:
    • Withdrawals made 10 days or more prior to the start of the camp = Full refund, minus a $25 cancellation fee.
    • Withdrawals made 9 days or less prior to the start date of the camp = No refund will be provided.
  •  The UBC Chan Centre reserves the right to cancel programs due to low registration or other unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, participants will receive a full refund.

Can my child attend camp if they have an exceptionality?

  • The Chan Centre strives to make camps as accessible and inclusive as possible. We are happy to have children with exceptionalities join us!
  • When registering, you will have the option to disclose an exceptionality via the Support Needs form. This allows us to gain more information about your Camper and their needs at camp. While The Chan Centre can make reasonable accommodations for exceptional Campers, we are not able to provide consistent 1-1 support at this time. Campers requiring 1-1 support should provide an external support worker at their own expense.

Can my child register in camps outside of their age range?

  • Camp curriculums are tailored to specific age ranges. We ask that Campers only register in camps that match their age. Exceptions may be made in extenuating circumstances for  Campers who are very close to the age minimum / maximum. For more information, please contact our office at chancentre.community@ubc.ca
