“Hollywood in Concert” with the Vancouver Pops Symphony and Choir

Presented by Vancouver Orchestra Club

An afternoon of “out of this world” music. We journey across the stars featuring two epic movements from Holst’s magnificent work, “The Planets”, and Hollywood’s best sci-fi film scores by John Williams, and the late James Horner. If you’re a Star Wars fan, you’ll be in for a treat with titles like “The Imperial March”, and “Cantina Band” and “The Throne Room”.

In this concert, we also feature one young soloist to grace the stage with their virtuosity performing the final movement of Sibelius’ violin concerto. Making their debut for the first time, the VPOPS Piano Quartets will dazzle you as they tickle the ivories with EIGHT hands, on two beautiful Steinway grand pianos – all at the same time.

Finally, the VPOPS Choir presents one of Disney’s most beloved film and vocal score with a choral suite from Beauty and the Beast.
