Revolutions

Presented by Turning Point Ensemble and the Vancouver Cantata Singers
Voices and instruments combine in this striking and varied program featuring Igor Stravinsky’s Cantata, a profound setting of sacred and secular medieval poems; and Janáček’s lively and playful Nursery Rhymes.
The concert includes the world premiere of Revolutions by composer Kristopher Fulton and writer Kico Gonzalez-Risso. Their work is inspired by the iconic 17th century astronomer Galileo.
An added bonus is Judith Weir’s Musicians Wrestle Everywhere, a concerto for ten instruments that is a brilliant synthesis of street music from the composers’ exotic urban environment of London SE17.
