The King and the Clown (film screening)

A film screening of the South Korean historical drama The King and the Clown (2005), starring Gam Wu-seong, Jung Jin-young and Lee Joon-gi.

The film was adapted from the 2000 Korean play Yi, about Yeonsangun of Joseon, a Joseon dynasty king and a court clown who mocks him. The film was chosen as South Korea’s official submission for the 2006 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

119 minutes. Directed by Lee Joon-ik.

This screening will be preceded by a talk by Dr. Hee-sun Kim at 3:30pm. Free pizza will be served between the talk and the film screening.
