UBC Choral Union, Hyejung Jun, conductor
Join us for an evening of hope, elation and human connection.
Conductor Hyejung Jun will lead the UBC Choral Union through a program of profound beauty and spirit. The ensemble begins with Bruckner’s serene Locus iste and Poulenc’s radiant Laudamus Te from Gloria, followed by Kim André Arnesen’s deeply moving Even When He is Silent. The set concludes with Cedric Dent’s soulful, uplifting arrangement of He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands—a powerful reminder of hope and unity.
Conductor Graeme Langager and the University Singers will then carry you into a world of motion and light—music that soars as wind over water. Their vibrant program spans cultures, eras, and sound worlds—from the rhythmic energy of Sydney Guillaume’s Kalinda and Ivan Markovic’s Fatise Kolo to the shimmering beauty of Gabriel Jackson’s To Morning and UBC Music Alum Hussein Janmohammed’s evocative Sun on Water. Discover profound reflections in Tõnu Kõrvits’ Peegeldused and Andrew Balfour’s Vision Chant, alongside beloved folk-inspired gems like George G. Hernandez’s Rosas Pandan.
