Vancouver Youth Symphony Orchestra Rising Stars Concert – INT / JR / DB Orchestras

The Vancouver Youth Symphony Orchestra is delighted to return to the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts for Rising Stars, an inspiring afternoon of orchestral music featuring the winners of VYSO’s Annual Concerto Competition alongside a wide range of exciting and compelling repertoire from across our program that highlights each ensemble’s artistic growth. Whether you’re a longtime supporter or discovering VYSO for the first time, Rising Stars offers an inspiring glimpse into the next generation of musicians.

This performance features the VYSO Debut, Junior, and Intermediate Orchestras, with the Debut Orchestra, conducted by Nadia Petriw, presenting works by Bach, Elgar, Edmondson, and Brahms; the Junior Orchestra, conducted by Rick Dorfer, presenting works by Grieg, Hummel and Warlock; and the Intermediate Orchestra, conducted by Samuel Ivory, performing works by Dvořák, Mendelssohn, Wieniawski, and Schubert.
