Inspired at the Chan: Call For Proposals
Inspired at the Chan: Call For Proposals
The Chan Centre for the Performing Arts at the University of British Columbia is thrilled to announce our call for proposals for the 2023-2024 season of “Inspired at the Chan” — a family-friendly performance series made possible by the support of UTown@UBC, part of Campus + Community Planning.
We invite artists of all disciplines — music, dance, theatre, and beyond — to submit proposals that will captivate and entertain audiences of all ages. Our aim is to present a diverse range of musical genres that will appeal to the varied tastes of families, while providing something for everyone to enjoy.
Each one-hour performance will take place on a Sunday at 3pm, without an intermission, and must include a family-friendly audience engagement or interaction component (pre-concert or post-concert activity). We are looking for proposals that not only showcase exceptional talent, but also create a memorable experience for our audience.
If you are interested in submitting a proposal, please send the following information to chancentre.community@ubc.ca by April 15.
-
- Name(s) of the artist(s)
- Description of the proposed program
- Biographies / links to recordings of proposed artists
- Availability for the following dates: October 29, 2023, November 19, 2023, April 14, 2024, or April 28, 2024.
- Fee expectations: Please include a brief description of your fee structure and compensation expectations for the proposed performance.
We look forward to reviewing your proposals and seeing what exceptional performances our audiences can anticipate in our upcoming season.
