Inspired at the Chan: Call For Proposals

The Chan Centre for the Performing Arts at the University of British Columbia is thrilled to announce our call for proposals for the 2023-2024 season of “Inspired at the Chan” — a family-friendly performance series made possible by the support of UTown@UBC, part of Campus + Community Planning.

We invite artists of all disciplines — music, dance, theatre, and beyond — to submit proposals that will captivate and entertain audiences of all ages. Our aim is to present a diverse range of musical genres that will appeal to the varied tastes of families, while providing something for everyone to enjoy.

Each one-hour performance will take place on a Sunday at 3pm, without an intermission, and must include a family-friendly audience engagement or interaction component (pre-concert or post-concert activity). We are looking for proposals that not only showcase exceptional talent, but also create a memorable experience for our audience.

If you are interested in submitting a proposal, please send the following information to by April 15.

    • Name(s) of the artist(s)
    • Description of the proposed program
    • Biographies / links to recordings of proposed artists

    • Fee expectations:  Please include a brief description of your fee structure and compensation expectations for the proposed performance.
