Lights, camera, action! Have you ever wanted to create and score your own stop-motion movies in the style of The Nightmare Before Christmas, Wallace & Gromit, and Flushed Away? In this camp, campers will learn the fundamentals of music, craft DIY musical instruments, and work in teams to explore digital music composition for film and TV using Garageband. In the afternoon, campers will learn how to produce, film, and edit their own stop-motion animations using Stop Motion Studio. On the final day, campers can invite their friends and family to a film screening of their animations, complete with their very own music! Are you ready to take a seat in the director’s chair?

Note to parents/guardians: No prior experience in music, Garageband, or animation is required.

What can you expect from this camp?

A typical camp week will introduce campers to new concepts in music and animation through fun games and mini-projects from Monday – Wednesday. Each morning will be spent focusing on music, while each afternoon focuses on stop-motion animation. Campers will spend Thursday – Friday working on their final projects to present in the Friday Showcase.

Parents/guardians, siblings, and friends are invited to the Friday Showcase, taking place on the Friday afternoon of each week. This is an opportunity for campers to show off their camp projects and have fun demonstrating what they learned! Information about the Friday Showcase will be provided to parents/guardians in an email 1 week prior to the start of camp.

Parents/guardians can expect campers to come home with a cool music-themed project on Monday – Wednesday. Technology projects such as digital music compositions and stop-motion animations, will be emailed to parents/guardians within 3 days after the last day of camp.

Registration opens on February 18, 2025 at 12PM
