Concert for Peace
Sasha Luchkov, a talented Ukrainian pianist, escaped the Russo-Ukrainian war before his 18th birthday with the help of Thrive Refuge, a student-led non-profit organization in Vancouver. Now studying under Dr. David Fung at UBC School of Music, Sasha and the Thrive Refuge team is giving back by hosting a “Concert for Peace” on April 12th, 2024, at UBC’s Chan Centre.
The event’s mission is to raise funds for refugees and advocates for global peace. Tickets proceeds will support Thrive Refuge’s Fine Arts Bursary Program with the Immigration Services Society of British Columbia to provide fine arts education to incoming refugees. Featured Performances: Sasha Luchkov, UBC School of Music Student; Ray Zhang, Thrive Refuge Founder and Young Steinway Artist; Ryan Hong, Thrive Refuge Young Artist. Featured Special Art Installation for Peace by Isabelle Wang.”
