TICKETS ON SALE JANUARY 30 FREE ADMISSION, TICKETS REQUIRED
The Phil Lind Initiative is presented by UBC’s School of Public Policy and Global Affairs in partnership with the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts.
A positively fearless comedian, writer and actress, Ziwe has taken the internet by storm and redefined the boundaries of satire and cultural commentary with her provocative and hilarious interviews that confront America’s most uncomfortable truths about race, power, identity and politics. As the host and producer of her late-night variety sketch show Ziwe, she has welcomed celebrity guests including Fran Leibowitz, Gloria Steinem, and Stacey Abrams in addition to hosting a viral interview with George Santos on her YouTube channel following his historic expulsion from Congress.
As one of TIME’s 100 Next Gen Leaders, Ziwe brings her own brand of comedy to the late-night format, blending wit and irreverence with sharp insights into politics and culture. She joins the Phil Lind Initiative for a conversation on race and identity, bringing her own take on what it means to navigate identity in America today. Ziwe is a multi-hyphenate creator whose ventures include an album of original music from her show, features on the television shows Succession and The Great North, and the critically acclaimed book of essays titled Black Friend. As she warns in the forward of her latest book, “I will not marginalize you . . . unless that’s your kink.”
