An evening of beautiful music by Mozart and Mahler, conducted by Bramwell Tovey. Mahler’s Fourth Symphony is the last of his “Wunderhorn” symphonies, built around a song called Heaven’s Life from Des Knaben Wunderhorn, a song that describes a child’s view of heaven. This lovely song is sung by soprano Kathleen Brett in the final movement of the symphony.

Program:

MOZART Abduction from the Seraglio: Overture

MOZART Serenade No. 6 in D Major, Serenata Notturna

MOZART Ch’io mi scordi di te—Non temer

MAHLER Symphony No. 4 in G Major
