Del McCoury Band

Chan Shun Concert Hall

Co-presented by the Chan Centre and Global Arts Concerts in association with the Pacific Bluegrass and Heritage Society

One of the most highly-acclaimed artists in the bluegrass world, Del McCoury leads his red-hot band of ace pickers and players to the Chan Centre for a night of classic, down home bluegrass music.

At the forefront of the wave of resurgent interest in this authentic American music form, GRAMMY Award-winning McCoury is, at 66, revitalized, re-energized and making the best music of his illustrious career. His signature “high lonesome” tenor voice and consummate guitar playing is backed by the hardest working band in bluegrass – sons Ronnie on mandolin and Robbie on banjo, Alan Bartram (bass) and Jason Carter (fiddle).

Today, the Del McCoury Band enjoys the praise of traditional bluegrass lovers and tie-dyed clad ‘Del-Heads’ alike. Del is both a key player in bluegrass music’s past, and an architect of its bright future.
