Echo: Memories of the World
General public tickets go on sale Thursday, February 6 at 12PM
Bringing together Gryphon Trio, mezzo-soprano Marion Newman Nege’ga, and narrator čačumḥi aaron wells, Echo is a multimedia concert that offers visions of a resilient future.
This concert honours those who have fought against oppression while exploring how history is erased, altered, and attacked. Through storytelling, film, and the music of composers past and present, Echo unearths memories that have long been suppressed.
Gryphon Trio assembled a remarkable team of Indigenous and non-Indigenous artists to create this show. With the music of Andrew Balfour, Eliot Britton, Ian Cusson, Ry Moran, Kelly-Marie Murphy, Marion Newman, J.S. Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven, Felix Mendelssohn, Dimitri Shostakovich and contemporary Ukrainian composer Valentin Silvestrov, Echo will take you on a global journey of discovery and healing.
