Sun Oct 17 2010 8pm
Chan Shun Concert Hall

Presented by the Chan Centre

Well-known as Canada’s youngest first lady when she married Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau in 1971 at age twenty-two, Margaret Trudeau appeared to lead a charmed, glamorous life. Beneath her beautiful exterior, however, she struggled with bipolar disorder as she raised her three young sons.

In her brand new, much-anticipated memoir, Changing My Mind, Margaret Trudeau speaks with candour and insight about the mental illness that affected her life so profoundly. A recipient of the Society of Biological Psychiatry Humanitarian Award, Trudeau will talk about her journey of recovery, acceptance and hope, as well as her important goal to fight the stigma of mental illness.
