One-Year Anniversary Concert

This One-Year Anniversary Concert will be produced by Xiaoping Hu’s Voice Studio and its affiliate Vancouver Xiaoping Chorus Society. The recital’s programme will feature a combination of opera music and Asian folk songs, presented by 10-12 vocal soloists, a men’s choral ensemble and a 40 member choir. Widely considered one of the most accomplished sopranos produced by China, Ms. Hu has collaborated with Gabor Carelli , Herbert von Karajan, Renée Fleming and many other world class artists in prestigious venues around the world. Among her aspiring student performers, most have taken extensive voice training from Ms. Hu, including a few with prospects of becoming commissioned singers at leading opera houses in North America. As the music director of the event, Ms.Hu may also preform on the stage. Let us look forward to hearing her beautiful singing voice. The duration of the event will be approximately 120 minutes. Both the piano accompanist Junyi Chen and choir conductor Henry Liang are alumni of UBC’s School of Music. They have been striving to make their Alma mater feel proud of them.
