“Ecstatic Waters” (A Multimedia Event)
Works by Björk, Leonard Bernstein, John Estacio, Eric Whitacre, Lyn Murray, and Steven Bryant
The concert features cartoon music, lighting, choreography, electronica, and a groundbreaking new work for laptop and wind ensemble by American composer Steven Bryant called Ecstatic Waters.
The UBC Symphonic Wind Ensemble is dedicated to performing the finest and most challenging wind repertoire, presenting four concerts on campus each year.
With new Director, Robert Taylor, the ensemble is comprised of music and other university students who are accepted by audition.
The group also hosts an annual band festival, attracting talented high school students from all over British Columbia. Players participate in UBC convocation ceremonies and regularly tour the province.
