Join the Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra (VMO) with an enchanting evening of classical music conducted by Kenneth Hsieh, and featuring award-winning violinist, Rio Arai. The programme for the evening consists of Beethoven’s Egmont Overture, Brahms’ Violin Concerto, and Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 2, to wrap up VMO‘s 22nd season.
Rio has won several prestigious prizes such as Third Prize in violin section at the 20th Khachaturian International Competition (2024, Armenia), First Prize in string section and the Audience Prize at the 15th Tokyo Music Competition, First Prize in violin section, Leucadia Prize, Sumi Prize, and Kuroyanagi Prize at the 87th Japan Music Competition. She placed 6th in the violin section of the 7th Sendai International Music Competition.
